Tiivistelmä
Bioetanolin tuotanto kiinnostaa monissa maissa johtuen kansainvälisissä sopimuksissa määritellyistä ilmastotavoitteista. Työssä tutkittiin laboratorio-oloissa ioninvaihtohartsien ominaisuuksien ja erotuksen olosuhteiden vaikutusta rikkihapon ja glukoosin kromatografiseen erotukseen. Tehokkaimmaksi hartsiksi osoittautui polysulfonoitu mesohuokoinen vahva kationinvaihtohartsi Finex CS100C. The production of bioethanol interests authorities in many countries, because of the international climate objectives. In this work the effect of ion exchange resin properties and the separation conditions on acid-sugar separation by chromatography was studied in laboratory conditions. During the studies, a polysulfonated mesoporous strong cation exchange resin Finex CS100C turned out to be the most efficient from low to as high concentrations as 25 w-% glucose and 36 w-% sulphuric acid. Separation efficiency and the effect of flow rate were studied in concentration and flow rate experiments in 22 °C temperature. According to the results CS11GC, CS16GC and CS100C were picked for a better isotherm measurement, because of their separation efficiency and physical differences. The isotherm measurements were made both in 22 °C and 50 °C temperature. Results show that equilibrium between solid and liquidphases is obtainable with a low 1 cm3/min flow rate than with a high 2,5 cm3/min flow rate. Isotherms became steeper in 50 °C temperature and unlinearity of glucose isotherms were observed in the isothermexperiments in both 22 °C and 50 °C temperatures. Isothermal parameters for a single column simulation were obtained from the isotherms and were used to determine physical constants for simulated moving bed separation and mainly masstransfer coefficients for acid and sugar. Simulation was done by using programs in which parameters were fed and changeable values were estimated. Changeable values were for the single column simulation the masstransfer coefficients of glucose and sulphuric acid and for the SMB separation the relative flow rates of zones 2 and 3. While changing the temperature from 22 °C to 50 °C parameters changed totally for sugar and partially, masstransfer coefficient, for acid. CS100C was the most effcient resin in SMB separation with the highest productivity of 0,11 cm3/min for 95 % product yield for 95 % pure products from raffinate and extract.
