Tiivistelmä
Tässä työssä toteutettiin vastuullisen turvetuotannon sertifiointiedellytysten arviointi yritykselle. Tavoitteena oli selvittää RPP -sertifioinnin edellytykset niin, että yritys voisi mahdollisesti lähitulevaisuudessa aloittaa sertifiointiprosessin. Työssä kartoitettiin myös yrityksen turvetuotantoalueiden nykytilaa ja mahdollisia muutostöitä, joita siellä tulisi tehdä, jotta ne vastaisivat RPP -sertifioinnin edellytyksiä.
Suuressa osassa sertifioinnin haussa oli dokumenttien keräys ja luominen. Tämän takia työssä valittiin case -kohtaisesti eräs turvetuotantoalue, jolle alettiin kerätä vaadittavia dokumentteja. Näin saatiin selville, kuinka paljon jo valmista materiaalia yrityksellä oli olemassa, kuinka laajojen materiaalien tekemiseen tarvittaisiin mahdollisesti ulkopuolista työvoimaa, sekä kuinka paljon kustannuksia karkeasti arvioiden RPP -sertifioinnin perustamis- ja ylläpitokustannukset olisivat.
Työn teoria osuudessa taas tarkasteltiin toteutuneen yritysvastuun etuja liiketoiminnalle sekä erilaisia teorioita onnistuneesta yritysvastuun harjoittamisesta. Yhdessä työn empiria- ja teoriaosuuden perusteella pystyttiin arvioimaan, kannattaisiko yrityksen aloittaa RPP -sertifioinnin hakuprosessi vai harkita ennemmin muita mahdollisuuksia yritysvastuun saralla. This master thesis was made to assess certification requirements for responsible peat production for a company. The aim of the work was to find out the requirements so, that the company could start to apply the certification in near future. In this work the current state of the peat production areas were surveyed to find out if some modification, to meet the requirements, were needed.
Collecting and creating the documents played a major role in the certification process. Because of this, one peat production area was chosen as an example, and the required documents for that were started to collect. Thanks to this, the knowledge of the documents, which the company already had and which still needed to be done, possible with the help of person outside of the company, was found out. Also, the rough estimation of the costs of the certification was calculated.
In the theory part of the work, the advantages of the CSR and different kind of theories about succeeded CSR actions were studied. Together with the empirical and theory part of the work, it was possible to assess if the RPP -certification process was worth applying or should the company consider other possible CSR actions instead.
