Tiivistelmä
Tässä kandidaatintutkielmassa analysoidaan Suomessa toimivan keskisuuren teollisuusyrityksen ostolaskujen käsittelyprosessia. Tutkielman tavoitteena on selvittää, kuinka ostolaskujen käsittelyprosessia voidaan tehostaa kohdeyrityksessä. Tutkielman avulla pyritään hahmottamaan kokonaisvaltaisesti ostolaskujen käsittelyprosessin vahvuuksia sekä kehityskohtia. Tutkielmassa perehdytään erityisesti digitaalisen käsittelyprosessin sekä automaation vaikutuksiin käsittelyprosessia tehostavina tekijöinä.
Tutkimus on toteutettu kvalitatiivisella tutkimusotteella, jossa tutkimusaineisto kerättiin haastattelemalla kohdeyrityksen asiantuntijoita. Haastattelut suoritettiin teemahaastatteluina, joita varten muodostettiin kattava haastattelurunko. This bachelor's thesis analyzes the purchase invoices handling process in a medium-sized industrial company operating in Finland. The aim of the thesis is to clarify how the purchase invoice handling process can be made more efficient in the target company. The aim of the thesis is to comprehensively outline the strengths and development points of the invoice handling process. The thesis examines the effects of the digital process and automation as factors that enhance the invoice handling process.
The research was executed by using a qualitative research method. Research material has been collected by interviewing experts from the company. The interviews were conducted with semi-structured interviews, for which an inclusive interview framework was formed. The key themes in the interviews were digital financial management, automation and process efficiency. These key themes work also as a theoretical framework for the thesis. The positive results of automation and the new system on the invoice handling process were highlighted in the research results. The clarification of the roles of employees, weaknesses in the system and customers who deviate from normal practice were detected as the most significant areas for development in streamlining the handling process. The rather manual and old processing system, unclear accounting and challenging invoices from certain suppliers were the weakest factors in the handling of invoices.
