Tiivistelmä
Tämä kandidaatin työ on tehty Lappeenrannan–Lahden teknillinen yliopisto LUTin hitsaustekniikan laboratoriolle tukemaan mahdollista hitsaussimulaatio-ohjelman investointipäätöstä. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää virtuaalitodellisuuden tuomia etuja hitsaussimulaatiossa sekä hitsaussimulaation soveltumista hitsauksen opetuskäyttöön.
Työ on toteutettu multimetologian avulla, jossa tuloksia etsitään kirjallisuuskatsauksen sekä kokeellisen osuuden avulla. Kirjallisuuskatsaus on suoritettu koskien hitsauksen perusparametrejä, hitsausturvallisuutta sekä hitsaussimulaatiota. Kokeellinen osuus on suoritettu LUT-Yliopiston hitsaustekniikan laboratorion henkilöstölle. Henkilöstön jäsenet kokeilivat hitsaussimulaatiota Oculus Quest 2 -virtuaalilaseilla, joihin oli asennettu Skillveri Classroom Series -ohjelman testilisenssi. Testauksen jälkeen koehenkilöillä toteutettiin lyhyt kyselytutkimus. Kyselytutkimuksen tulokset on koottu taulukoihin, joista voidaan analysoida hitsaussimulaation soveltuvuutta opetuskäyttöön.
Virtuaalilasien luoma immersio tekee hitsaussimuloinnista realistisen tuntuista. Tämä tukee kognitiivista oppimista ja kehittää hitsaustaitoja. Tutkimuksen pohjalta voidaan todeta hitsaussimulaation soveltuvan erinomaisesti opetuskäyttöön. This bachelor's thesis was conducted for the welding laboratory of LUT University to support a possible investment decision for a welding simulation program. The purpose of the study is to find out the advantages of virtual reality in welding simulation and the suitability of welding simulation for teaching.
The work was carried out with the help of multimetology, as the results are sought with the help of a literature review and an experimental part. A review of the literature has been performed regarding the basic parameters of welding, welding safety, and welding simulation. The experimental part has been performed for the staff of the welding laboratory of LUT University. Staff members tested the welding simulation on Oculus Quest 2 virtual glasses with a test license for the Skillveri Classroom Series software installed. After testing the subjects underwent a short survey. The results of the survey are summarized in tables, from which the suitability of the welding simulation for teaching can be analyzed.
The immersion created by the virtual glasses makes the welding simulation feel realistic. This supports cognitive learning and develops welding skills. Based on the research it can be stated that the welding simulation is suitable for teaching. Welding simulation brings user-friendly features. Feedback during welding and post-performance evaluation of weld quality contribute to the internalization of orthodox welding performance. Welding simulation is also ecologically profitable as it is completely emission free. There will also be reduction in teaching costs for welding due to reduced material requirements.
