Tiivistelmä
Tuotteiden eliniän määrittäminen on tärkeää, jotta tuote voidaan saattaa myyntiin. Elinikä tulee usein määrittää rajallisessa ajassa. Kiihdytetty elinikätestaus on yleisesti käytetty tapa määrittää tuotteen elinikä lyhyessä ajassa. Lämpösyklaus on yksi monista kiihdytetyn elinikätestauksen vaihtoehdoista.
Tutkimus on kirjallisuuskatsaus.
To sell the product, it’s important to be able to define the life of the product. Often the life must be defined in a given limited time. Accelerated life testing is commonly used method to define product’s life in short period of time. Thermal cycling is one of many ways to perform an accelerated life testing.
The objective of this thesis was to find out when is the thermal cycling a reasonable way to test product’s life. It was also investigated what factors should be considered while planning a thermal cycling test and how can the life be estimated from the test results. In this thesis definitions of product life and product failure are examined. This thesis is a literature review.
Thermal cycling is reasonable test method when the product goes through temperature changes on the field. Because of this the product’s failure happens the same way in test and operational conditions. Planning thermal cycling test includes choosing parameters for the test. The parameters affect the length of the test and correlation between product’s real life and the test life. Real life can then be estimated using different methods such as Weibull analysis, and various models such as Norris-Landzberg’s model.
