Tiivistelmä
Sähkön hinnan määräytyminen on noussut ajankohtaiseksi aiheeksi vuoden 2022 energiakriisin myötä. Tämän kandidaatintyön tavoitteena on selittää pörssisähkön hinnanmuodostuksen perusperiaate ja tarkastella Suomen sähkön hintaan nykyhetkellä vaikuttavia tekijöitä.
Työssä esitellään sähkön tukkumarkkinat, joilla pörssihinta muodostuu kysynnän ja tarjonnan perusteella. Kysynnän ja tarjonnan suuruuteen vaikuttavat muun muassa sää, kellonaika, viikonpäivä ja vuodenaika. Kansainvälisessä sähkökaupassa kotimaan hintaan heijastuu yhä vahvemmin muiden maiden markkinatilanne.
Työssä tutkitaan ilmiöitä, jotka ovat viimeisen vuoden aikana huomionarvoisesti näkyneet Suomen sähkön hinnassa. Energiakriisissä korkeita hintoja aiheuttivat kaasun tarjonnan puute Euroopassa ja Ukrainan sota. Hintojen volatiliteettia kasvattaa tuulisähkön yleistyminen verkossa. Olkiluoto 3 -ydinvoimalaitosyksikön käyttöönotto laskee hintaa. During the energy crisis of 2022, the price of electricity has become a topical issue. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to explain the basic principle of the price formation of stock exchange electricity and to examine the factors affecting the price of electricity in Finland.
The bachelor's thesis introduces the wholesale electricity market, where the exchange price is based on demand and supply. The magnitude of supply and demand is affected by, for example, weather, time of day, day of the week and season. Finland participates in international electricity trade, and the market situation of other countries is increasingly reflected in the domestic price.
The bachelor's thesis examines phenomena that have been noticeably reflected in the price of electricity in Finland during the past year. In the energy crisis, high prices were caused by the lack of gas supply in Europe and the war in Ukraine. The volatility of prices increases as the production of wind electricity becomes more common. The commissioning of the Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant unit lowers the price.
