Tiivistelmä
Työn tavoitteina oli perehtyä tutkimusongelmaan eli kartonkien peeling-ilmiöön. Tutkimusongelmaa lähestyttiin aluksi kirjallisuuden kautta. Aaltopahveista ja kartongeista löytyneen kirjallisuuden avulla luotiin pohja tutkimustyölle. Kirjallisuudesta tehtiin havaintoja, joilla päästiin lähemmäksi ilmiön synnyn ymmärtämistä. Ilmiön syntyyn vaikuttavia merkittäviä tekijöitä on useita, kuten kartongin kuitujen kosteus ja ympäristön lämpötila. Näiden havaintojen pohjalta pystyttiin rajaamaan tutkittavia kohteita ja testausmenetelmän valintaa. Testattavaksi parametriksi muodostui kuitujen sidoslujuus. Erojen pohjalta pystyttiin arvioimaan, minkälaisia tuloksia kitkavoimaan perustuvalla testausmenetelmällä on mahdollista saada. The goals of the work were to become familiar with the research problem, the cardboard peeling phenomenon. The research problem was initially approached through the literature. The basis for the research work was created with the help of literature found in corrugated cardboard and cardboard. Observations were made from the literature to get closer to understanding the origin of the phenomenon. There are several significant factors influencing the emergence of the phenomenon, such as the humidity of the cardboard fibers and the ambient temperature. On the basis of these observations, it was possible to narrow down the objects to be investigated and the choice of the testing method. By studying different testing methods and comparing their properties, it was found that the bond strength of fibers is not tested using a friction-based method. This friction-based testing method became the central concept of the work. Preliminary tests were done using two wear testing devices in order to create a picture of what kind of test results it is possible to get with friction-based methods on the surface of the cardboard. Bendtsen roughness and formation were also measured from the materials. The design of the testing device was started by priming the process with the customer's wishes, and a free image was created of the forces affecting the emergence of the phenomenon. The priming and drive on the utilization of friction force were considered when different concepts were considered in two different rounds of iteration. During the rounds, constructive discussions were held with the personnel dealing with the phenomenon and ideas were collected for the final test device model. Based on the iteration rounds, a concept was chosen, from which detailed plans were made. At the end, the first prototype is assembled, and its operation is declared successful.
