The selection and maintenance of strategic partnerships are crucial for the success of supply chain management in the shipbuilding industry. This thesis aims to identify the enablers and barriers to forming stable strategic partnerships in the shipbuilding industry. The study involved a thorough investigation of the shipbuilding supply chain process and characteristics, as well as the methods and criteria for selecting and maintaining strategic partnerships. The role of trust in forming and maintaining successful partnerships was also analyzed.
The study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews and questionnaires, to collect data about shipbuilders and their suppliers. The research findings revealed that a systematic and appropriate selection and maintenance of strategic partnerships is essential for optimizing supply chain management and improving efficiency in the shipbuilding industry. The study also identified trust as a critical factor for creating a collaborative and cooperative environment between partners.
