Tiivistelmä

Although only successfully implemented idea provides value for companies, more is needed to know about the factors that facilitate the implementation of innovative ideas in Finland's poultry industry. This study aims to identify key factors that enhance innovation implementation in the industry. The thesis aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of innovations in the industry, and how idea implementation could be enhanced, it focuses more on chicken production.

It is qualitative research in which interviews and a survey were used to acquire complementary data. Data for the study was obtained from 79 individual respondents in a survey, five people interviewed, three employees from the case company, and two from academia.

The results indicate that the innovation implementation process is similar regardless of whether the idea originates from internal research or external source; this suggests that the idea implementation process can be linked to the innovation process model theories. However, to successfully integrate innovative ideas into companies' operations in the industry, it is necessary to make sure ideas are aligned with regulations, particularly animal welfare, and environmental regulations. Decision-making should involve considering relevant regulations and their compatibility with the company's operations.

It is also observed that extensive collaboration and partnership reduce complexity, propelling the industry's implementation processes. Therefore, companies need to have a collaborative culture to deal with stakeholders, who are mostly government agencies and research institutions.
