Tiivistelmä
Computerized tomography (CT) scanners and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems are known as the highly demanding radiology systems in hospitals and radiography clinics. Most of such appliances need to be operated during working hours and some of them should be available for emergency operations if needed. Optimal operation and maintenance of these expensive devices are very important. Energy consumption of these appliances is very high due to their radio imaging progress, while it can be managed by optimal scheduling during the operation. This paper presents a scheduling model benefiting from the mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) approach to minimize the electricity consumption of these devices. The scheduling problem is handled for a given day with a 15-minute time resolution to show the capability of the model in handling the process at a specific radiology clinic.
