This study delves into the realm of eco-friendly innovations within the smartphone industry, using Fairphone as a pivotal case study. It investigates the imperative for sustainable practices in an era of rapid technological advancements, where smartphones have become ubiquitous but have also contributed significantly to environmental issues like e-waste, resource depletion, and heightened carbon footprints. The study explores the potential of sustainable innovations, focusing on Fairphone's pioneering strides in promoting modular designs, ethical sourcing, and sustainable production processes. By critically examining Fairphone's business model, product design, and stakeholder engagement strategies, this research aims to illuminate pathways for the smartphone industry to adopt more sustainable practices. It seeks to establish connections between stakeholders and sustainability trajectories, particularly within personalized smartphone companies like Fairphone.
