Tiivistelmä
The thesis offers an in-depth investigation of wind turbines, with particular emphasis on the ramifications of wind turbine aging. The chapter 'Comprehensive Analysis of Wind Turbines' examines and compares various aspects of wind turbines, including the distinctions between onshore and offshore wind farms and advancements in wind turbine technology, challenges faced in this field, the advantages and disadvantages of three types of wind turbines, wind power generation in Finland, and several studies and reports focused on the aging of wind turbines.
The research methodology used in this thesis incorporates a hybrid approach, combining SCADA system and sophisticated statistical approaches to evaluate the impact of aging on wind turbines. The thesis highlights the need of monitoring and diagnosing wind turbine power curves, wind frequency distributions, and failure circumstances. Additionally, it presents the assessments and analyses of documented wind turbine aging parameters.
