Tiivistelmä
The fast rise of electric vehicles (EVs) has led to a lot of research and development into motor technologies that make them more efficient, perform better, and last longer. This thesis talks about all the different motor technologies used in electric vehicles (EVs), from traditional brushed DC motors to advanced permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). The thesis reviews the key concepts like motor design principles, integrating power electronics, and control strategies that are necessary to make the motor and car work better together. Some new developments in motor technology are also looked at, such as improvements in materials, ways of cooling, and smart motor control. Because this review shows the benefits and drawbacks of each motor type, it is hoped to help researchers, engineers, and policymakers choose the best motors for electric cars, and promote the electrification of the global automotive industry.
