The market for electric vehicles is growing very rapidly today, but electric vehicles consume a lot of time to charge compared to ordinary internal combustion engine vehicles, so a high-power charger (megawatt level) is very necessary for rapid charging of today's electric vehicles. High-power chargers require high voltage and high current semiconductors for the AC-DC and DC-DC converters. The requirements challenge the semiconductor availability and the converter design. This thesis comprehensively and carefully reviews the various power electronic components, with a focus on the state-of-the-art components on the market that are compatible with the development of megawatt EV chargers. at the same time discusses the future development of high-power chargers for electric vehicles and the current challenges facing the development of the electric vehicle.
