Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the dynamics of risk management and key elements within buyer-supplier relationship (BSR). It addresses the gap in existing literature by investigating the importance and connection of risk management and key elements within BSR. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, the study aims to find the strengths and weaknesses inherent in the current risk management practices.
The purpose of this study was to create proposals to improve case company’s risk management practices in their BSRs. Quantitative data, gathered through surveys, assessed the current risk management state and the significance of key relationship elements. The study was conducted as a case study, capturing perspectives from both the case company and its clients. Theoretical foundations were drawn from academic literature to provide context.
The study findings show that optimized risk management practices could potentially enhance the effectiveness and resilience of BSRs. Practices such as risk identification and regular review and update processes were recognized important. Moreover, the findings revealed the importance of trust, communication, cooperation, and commitment within BSRs.
