Erilaisten projektinhallintatapojen vertailu energia-alan yrityksessä : projektityön selkeyttäminen haastatteluiden ja kyselyn pohjalta

Abstract

Yrityksen pyrkiessä tehostamaan toimintaansa on niiden pyrittävä valitsemaan juuri oikeanlainen projektinhallintatapa ja kehittämään yhä parempia toimintatapoja parantaakseen yrityksensä toimintaa. Tässä työssä pyritään selvittämään, mitkä projektihallintatavat sopivat erilaisiin tilanteeseen ja millaisia vaihtoehtoja on tarjolla.

Työ koostuu kirjallisuuskatsauksesta, jossa käydään vesiputousmalli, Scrum, Kanban ja DevOps läpi ja kuinka niiden avulla projekti etenee. Tämän jälkeen yrityksen henkilöstölle lähettiin kysely, jonka perusteella vielä oli yksilöhaastatteluita projektipäälliköille. Näin ollen kyselyiden ja haastatteluiden perusteella annettiin projektiin liittyviä kehitysehdotuksia.

Työn tuloksina todettiin, että yrityksen on kannattavaa yhtenäistää projektitoimintatapoja, jotta projektien yleinen kypsyysaste saadaan nostettua korkeammalle. Myös saadakseen paremman käsityksen, kuinka projekti oli mennyt, on syytä mitata projektissa asioita. Erityisesti budjetin ja aikataulun hallinta sekä riskien arviointi nousivat haastatteluissa esiin. Projektin loppuessa myös ehdotettiin retrospektiivin tekemistä, jonka avulla projektia voidaan tarkastella sen päätyttyä.

Työ tarjoaa lukijalleen ymmärrystä, mitkä ovat eri projektihallintamallien hyödyt, sekä antaa ehdotuksia, kuinka projekteja voitaisiin parantaa.

In pursuit of enhancing operational efficiency, companies must strive to select the most suitable project management approach and continually develop better practices to improve their operations. This thesis aims to investigate which project management methodologies are suitable for various situations and what alternatives are available.

The study comprises a literature review, which explores the waterfall model, Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps, and elucidates how projects progress using these methodologies. Subsequently, a survey was conducted among the company's personnel, followed by individual interviews with project managers. Based on the findings from the surveys and interviews, development suggestions related to project management were provided.

The results of the study indicate that it is beneficial for the company to standardize project management practices to elevate the overall maturity level of projects. Additionally, measuring various aspects of the project is essential to gain a better understanding of its progress. Particularly, budget and schedule management, as well as risk assessment, emerged as crucial aspects during the interviews. Furthermore, conducting a retrospective at the conclusion of a project was suggested to retrospectively evaluate the project's performance.

This work offers readers an understanding of the benefits of different project management models and provides suggestions for enhancing project performance.
