Tiivistelmä
Tämän diplomityön tavoitteena on löytää kehityskohteet kysynnän ennustamiseen ja tuotannon kapasiteetin hallintaan. Työ on rajattu koskemaan kohdeyrityksen projektiliiketoimintaa, kysynnän ennustamista ja tuotannon kapasiteetin hallintaa.
Työ koostuu kahdesta osasta, joista ensimmäinen on teoriaosuus ja toinen empiirinen osuus. Teoria koostuu kysynnän ennustamisen, kapasiteetin hallinnan ja projektiliiketoiminnan aiheista. Teorialähteet ovat tieteellisiä artikkeleita ja aiheen muuta kirjallisuutta. Empiirisessä osuudessa on hyödynnetty haastatteluja, joiden avulla selvitetään kohdeorganisaation nykytila. Lisäksi työssä pohditaan, miten teoriaosuudessa käsitellyt asiat soveltuvat kohdeorganisaatioon.
Työn tuloksena ehdotetaan kysynnän ennustamisen kehittämiseksi yhteistyön parantamista, S&OP-prosessin perustamista ja ennustetarkkuusraportin luomista. Kapasiteetin hallinnan osalta kehitysehdotuksia ovat OBE-tiimin suunnittelun parantaminen, tuotantoprosessissa esiintyvien hukkien tunnistaminen sekä niiden vähentäminen ja tuotannon joustavuuden kasvattaminen.
Työ on vastannut sille asetettuihin tavoitteisiin, ja kehitysehdotukset ovat toteutettavissa kohdeorganisaatiossa. Työssä on havaittu, että kohdeorganisaatiolla on yhdenmukainen näkemys nykytilasta ja yhteinen halu toiminnan kehittämiseksi sekä kysynnän ennustamisen että kapasiteetin hallinnan osalta. The aim of this master’s thesis is to identify areas for development in demand forecasting and production capacity management. The scope of the thesis is limited to the target company's project business, demand forecasting and production capacity management.
This thesis consists of two parts, of which the first part is a theoretical section, and the second part is an empirical section. The theory consists of topics of demand forecasting, capacity management and project business. Theoretical sources include scientific journal articles and other literature on the subject. In the empirical section, interviews have been utilised to determine the current state of the target organisation. In addition, the thesis considers how the issues discussed in the theoretical section apply to the target organisation.
As results of the thesis, it is proposed to improve cooperation in order to develop demand forecasting, establish S&OP process and create a forecasting accuracy report. In terms of capacity management, development suggestions include improving the design of the OBE team, identifying, and reducing waste in the production process and increasing production flexibility.
The thesis have met the goals set for it, and the development proposals can be implemented in the target organisation. It has been found out that the target organisation has a consistent view of the current state and a common desire to develop operations in terms of both demand forecasting and capacity management.
