Tiivistelmä
Although electrolysis has long been studied as a method of hydrogen production, relatively few works consider the oxygen produced simultaneously. The presented thesis is devoted to the feasibility of using this important by-product to make electrolysis economically viable. The conducted research into oxygen’s novel potentials in medicine, industrial production, and environmental sectors shows the benefits of the application of high-purity oxygen produced by electrolysis in gas welding, steel production, chemical synthesis, medicine, and wastewater treatment. The findings suggest that effective oxygen utilization could transform electrolysis into a more profitable and sustainable technology.
