Tiivistelmä
This thesis focuses on the design and development of a 12 GHz quadrature mode sensor (OMT) for anti-aircraft fire control radar antennas, which aims to separate transmitted and received signals. This work includes conducting a literature review of OMT-related technologies, creating a manufacturing plan, performing a DFMA analysis, and selecting and dimensioning the appropriate materials for the mechanical components of the equipment with possible suppliers. Key features include frequency-tuned pin and diode tolerances for precise alignment and positioning. The paper also explores the challenges of welding, material selection, DFMA analysis, and integration of standardized components. The results include a literature review, solid engineering model, a sound material selection, and a comprehensive manufacturing plan that emphasizes the importance of accuracy and reliability in the construction of the equipment. The topic of this paper belongs to the broader research project at LUT University during 2024. The research project focuses to the DFMA and sustainability analyses of more than 40 MW and RF components.
