This thesis examines the role of hydrogen in Finland’s transition to a low-carbon economy. It explores the integration of hydrogen within various sectors, including transportation and manufacturing, and assesses the technological advancements and socio-economic impacts. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study analyzes the data from literature reviews, case studies. The findings indicate significant opportunities for enhancing energy independence and environmental sustainability in Finland, though challenges in cost, technology, and public acceptance persist. Strategic recommendations focus on policy refinement, technology investment, and public engagement to support development of hydrogen. This research provides valuable insights for other pursuing similar energy transformations.
