Kestävän talouden mittarit ja niiden vertailu

Abstract

Tämän kandidaatintyön tarkoitus on perehtyä kestävän talouden toimintaan sekä sitä mittaaviin mittareihin. Työ on toteutettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Teoriaosuudessa perehdytään siihen mitä kestävä talous on ja mistä se koostuu. Seuraava osio teorian jälkeen on perehtymistä kestävän talouden mittareihin. Mittarit valitaan teoriaosuudessa kestävän talouden osa-alueiden mukaisesti. Mittareita vertaillaan keskenään taulukkomuodossa ja selvitetään mihin talouden osiin ne kiinnittävät huomiota. Viimeisenä työn vaiheena pohditaan voisiko mittareita kehittää paremmin kestävää taloutta kuvaaviksi.

Työn aikana keskitytään kestävän talouden analysointiin. Alussa määritetyt kestävän talouden tekijät seuraavat työn kulussa loppuun asti. Kestävä talous huomioi kestävät ratkaisut talouden harjoittamisessa, ympäristövaikutukset, ihmisten hyvinvoinnin sekä niiden vaikutukset toisiinsa. Valitut mittarit, jotka kuvaavat talouden kestävyyttä eri tavoin ovat ISEW, GPI, GS, HPI ja Green GDP. Mittareita voidaan vielä kehittää paremmin kestävää taloutta kuvaaviksi, mutta tällä hetkellä kestävästä taloudesta voidaan saada kattava kuva yhdistelemällä eri mittareiden tuloksia.

During this Bachelor’s thesis, the aim is to get acquainted to sustainable economy and its indicators. The study is done as a literature review. In the theory part we explore the meaning of sustainable economy and what does it consist of. Next part of the thesis is to find out what kind of indicators reflect on the meaning of sustainable economy. The chosen indicators are based on the formed idea of what does the sustainable economy consist of. Indicators are then compared to each other and then there are questions on how to improve them.

During the thesis, the focus lays on analyzing the sustainable economy. The chosen illustrating sectors at the beginning follow throughout the study. Sustainable economy pays attention at the environmental effects, on human wellbeing and on to the way of practicing the economy in a sustainable way. The chosen indictors are ISEW, GPI, GS, HPI and Green GDP. The chosen indicators have still some room to improve. As of now there is not any specific indicator that would reflect on the sustainable economy as whole, but when combining different indicators there is a possibility to achieve all-embracing picture of the sustainable economy.
