Tiivistelmä
The research will then focus on the way data on energy consumption and carbon footprints will be made more user-friendly about user engagement through graph visualizations developed in Android Studio. I collected and processed household electricity consumption data in Finland, enriched by personal habits such as means of transportation and diet. Our design keeps human interaction easy, straightforward, and user-centered through prototyping and iterative testing. The visualizations were implemented within Android Studio and took the form of pie charts for personal carbon emissions and bar scharts to compare individual footprints with national averages. Ongoing user evaluations are passed through feedback loops so that improvement can also be ongoing regarding the visualization scheme to enhance usability and effectiveness in eliciting energy-saving behaviors. Concerns include the privacy and security of data, susceptible personal information. Future research should consider integrating Smart Grid technologies with on-the-fly data processing in a way that serves real-time feedback or recommendations about personalized energy management, considering individual consumption patterns.
