Tiivistelmä
As cities increasingly prioritize sustainable development, leveraging advanced technologies becomes essential to engage communities and streamline sustainability initiatives. This study aims to design and implement EcoWissen, a sustainable chatbot, to enhance public access to and engagement with Freiburg’s sustainability data using socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable AI techniques. The main goal is to create an AI-driven tool that provides accurate and timely sustainability information to stakeholders, fostering eco-friendly and socially responsible practices within the community. Adopting a Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM), this study integrates qualitative research approaches and utilizes both primary and secondary data sources. The validation process, including usability testing and benchmarking, provided valuable insights confirming EcoWissen’s relevance and practicality. Feedback from various civic society stakeholders has refined and enhanced the chatbot’s effectiveness in promoting environmental, economic, and social sustainability. In essence, EcoWissen significantly contributes to sustainable urban development by facilitating access to sustainability data and engaging the community in a manner that considers all three dimensions of sustainability. Additionally, it serves as a roadmap for other cities, guiding them towards proactive and sustainable practices, fostering a more sustainable future for urban environments and beyond.
