Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the integration of control charts and process capability analysis to monitor and improve the quality of processes, with a particular focus on moisture content in timber production. The study investigates the application of various control charts, including Shewhart and Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) charts, to detect and respond to shifts in the process mean. Through detailed analysis of three distinct timber cases, the research demonstrates the sensitivity and effectiveness of CUSUM charts in identifying small but persistent deviations that may affect the overall process capability. Moreover, the process capability and control charts analysis emphasize the importance of maintaining process stability, while also offering recommendations for further improvements in managing moisture content in the wood.
