Tiivistelmä
The sports industry is undoubtedly growing every year, both in size and revenue. Currently, AI, an emerging technology also known as artificial intelligence, has been used as a tool to improve optimisations and efficiency in many different contexts, this has also been a trend in the sporting industry. This study aims to provide an overview of the impact of AI on sports industry business and management processes, from the perspective of industrial management and operations management, going through the current trends and impacts from it. From the research conducted, it was found that AI has made a large contribution to the last few years’ success in the sporting industry. This has been found mainly in sports fan engagement and revenue generation, along with those, operations, management, and marketing areas within the sporting industry have seen similar contributions. From the trends and utilizations, it can be said that AI will be increasingly implemented in organizations and management teams in the sports industry, with the ability to process data and produce key trends and predictions, this emerging technology will have a helping hand in an organization’s success. Which will most likely be shown within the next few years, as the utilization of AI becomes more apparent and more developed.
