Tiivistelmä
The electrification of the transportation sector has been advancing in recent years with an increasing pace. As a new technology, the transformation of the logistics has been proven to be a complex phenomenon, where the systematic approach is still in its infancy. To effectively transfer to utilizing electricity as the primary energy source, a holistic and systematic change is required overarching different fields. To give insights about the status of the electrification of the European heavy-duty logistics system, this study identifies the most important determinants in the transformation. In doing this, the policy and technological aspects were identified as the most relevant aspects. As an example, an overview of the status of electric trucks is described. The electrification of heavy-duty vehicles is still at the early stage, but it is expected to grow substantially during the next decade.
