Critical to Quality -prosessin nykytila-analyysi ja kehittäminen

Abstract

Projektien haastavuus kasvaa jatkuvasti esimerkiksi kehittyvän teknologian vuoksi. Tämä johtaa monimutkaisuuden kasvuun ja yksityiskohtien merkityksen tärkeyteen. Se johtaa siihen, että pienetkin yksityiskohdat voivat olla projektin onnistumisen kannalta kriittisiä. Työn tavoitteena on luoda kohdeyrityksen organisaatiolle nykytila-analyysi ja kehitysehdotukset sekä päivittää nykyinen Critical to Quality -prosessi.

Työssä tehtiin muun muassa haastatteluiden pohjalta hyväksytty nykytila-analyysi prosessikuvauksena. Prosessin hyväksymisen jälkeen päätettiin päivitettävälle prosessille uusi omistaja. Omistajan päättämisen jälkeen luotiin kehitysehdotuksia ja muokattiin nykytilaa niiden perusteella. Muokattua prosessia ehdotettiin eri henkilöille, joiden kommenttien perusteella prosessia muokattiin paremmaksi. Loppujen lopuksi muokattu prosessi hyväksyttiin nykytilan hyväksyneiden henkilöiden kesken. Päivitetylle prosessille luotiin vielä tarkemmat kirjalliset prosessiohjeet sekä implementointisuunnitelma.

Työtä tehtiin aktiivisella ja vuorovaikutteisella otteella, jossa prosessissa mukana olevia henkilöitä pidettiin osallistettuina arvokkaan panoksen antamisen vuoksi. Työtä varten pidettiin runsaasti tallennettuja haastatteluja, keskusteluja sekä käytiin yrityksen materiaalia läpi. Jokainen tallenne käytiin läpi ja tärkeimmät asiat kirjattiin niistä ylös. Työn tuloksina syntyi hyväksytty nykytila-analyysi, päivitetty prosessi prosessiohjeineen sekä implementointisuunnitelma prosessin käyttöönottoa varten. Johtopäätöksinä voidaan todeta, että prosessi on ollut kehittämisen tarpeessa ja tavoitteet saavutettiin. Prosessin jatko on myös tiedossa implementointisuunnitelman muodossa.

Project complexity is constantly growing because of developing technology for example. This leads to increased complexity and an emphasis on the importance of details, which in turn means that even small details can be critical to the success of a project. The goal of the work is to create a current state analysis and development proposals for the target company's organization, and to update the current Critical to Quality process.

The work included, among other things, an approved current state analysis as a process description based on interviews. A new process owner was selected after process approval. After process owner selection development proposals were created and the current state was modified based on them. The modified process was proposed to different persons and based on their comments the process was modified. Ultimately the modified process was accepted by those who accepted the current state. Even more detailed written process instructions and an implementation plan were created for the updated process.

The work was done in an active and interactive manner, where the people involved in the process were considered involved for providing valuable input. For the work many recorded interviews and discussions were held, and the company’s materials was reviewed. Each recording was reviewed, and the most important issues were written down. The results of the work were an approved current state analysis, an updated process with process instructions and an implementation plan for the implementation phase. The conclusions can be stated that the process has needed development, and the goals were achieved. The next step of the process is also known in the form of the implementation plan.
