Tiivistelmä
This thesis provides an assessment and mechanical improvement of a digitally controlled L-band step attenuator based on lifecycle thinking and circular economy principles. Material selection, manufacturing processes, and structural improvements were systematically investigated through literature reviews, expert interview, SolidWorks simulations, and triangulation. The results show that aluminum 6061 alloy provides the best balance between performance requirements and environmental impacts; sheet metal processing for thinner parts can effectively reduce carbon emissions; and a design that minimizes the depth of internal cavities and standardized designs can reduce raw material consumption and environmental impacts.
