Towpreg is an influential material in lightweight and high-performance industries. The aim of the research is to focus on the critical manufacturing parameters, quality, and performance of towpreg materials. As well as identifying market requirements and sustainability trends in Europe, China, and the United States of America. The study methodology was a literature review, PESTLE analysis, and a semi-structured expert interview, explaining the processing parameters, manufacturing challenges, and market needs for the development of the towpreg; to ensure the competitiveness of towpreg industry in the global market. The current research identifies gaps between research and industry where manufacturers and policymakers can leverage regional strengths to achieve these goals. The research showed the potential of towpreg in sustainable manufacturing and innovation of production processes. Despite the limitations of the study, it contributes to the global trend of towpreg in next-generation composites as a basis for future research based on bio—based materials and automated quality control.
