This thesis explores two critical aspects of Mc Donald’s operations in Finland : Employee satisfaction and sales forecasting. The first part of the study examines job satisfaction, motivation, retention & engagement among employees in Mc Donalds. The questionnaire covered demographic, job satisfaction, motivation and retention & workplace engagement attributes. The findings of employee satisfaction contribute to managerial decisions which are made to improve satisfaction to reduce turn over and give better customer experience through delighted work performance.
The second part of the thesis focuses on hourly sales forecasting using historical data from McDonald’s Finland. A SARIMAX model was developed using features such as time-based variables, holiday, events, weather, and renovation period. According to the findings holiday, weekend , renovation period became significant factors for forecasting. The sales forecasting provide roadmaps into staffing, inventory management, and demand management in Mc Donalds in Finland.
