Tiivistelmä
Two exceptional events occurred during the winter 2023—2024. In November 2023, the electricity spot price decreased to -500 €/MWh in the Finnish bidding area. In January 2024, the electricity spot price rose almost to 1900 €/MWh. These extreme price events caused incentives for customers with spot-price-based electricity contracts to react. The impacts of this price-driven electricity usage on the low-voltage (LV) networks of a rural area in Finland are studied by using real hourly AMR meter data obtained from a Finnish electricity retail operator.
