Tiivistelmä
Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Hybrid Pulse Power Characterization (HPPC) are used to compare equivalent circuit model (ECM) parameterization for lithium-ion batteries. Capacity testing, Open circuit voltage profiling, HPPC and EIS measurement were tested experimentally to characterize two different cell lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC). Ohmic resistance and polarization resistance were extracted from both time and frequency domain.
Both EIS and HPPC provide similar qualitive trends, but some numerical differences occur due to their different excitation domains. ECM developed for HPPC parameters able to achieve very small errors when producing the measured pulse data which indicates the strong model capability.
Overall, the study demonstrates the advantages of EIS and HPPC for battery characterization and ECM parameterization. The results help the development of more precise and reliable models for battery management system applications and advance knowledge of SOC-dependent dynamic behavior in lithium-ion cells.
