Tiivistelmä

In light of growing environmental concerns and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the adoption of EVs has become increasingly important today. This study offers a comprehensive comparison of EVs, conventional gasoline-powered cars, and bio-fuel vehicles, focusing on cost, energy consumption, and efficiency. EVs emerge as significantly more environmentally friendly due to lower emissions and higher energy efficiency, especially when powered by renewable sources like wind or solar energy. Despite their higher initial purchase price, EVs entail lower operating and maintenance costs than traditional vehicles. Key challenges for EV adoption include battery lifespan limitations, the environmental impact of battery production, and inadequate charging infrastructure. Nevertheless, long-term savings on fuel and maintenance often compensate for the initial investment. The study explores strategies to enhance the affordability and practicality of EVs, such as implementing dynamic pricing models and optimizing route planning. It also underscores the potential of bio-fuel and hydrogen-powered vehicles, particularly for long-distance travel. The findings suggest that both EVs and bio-fuel vehicles can substantially reduce pollution, and a combined utilization of these technologies may offer the most sustainable solution for future transportation needs.
