Tiivistelmä
This bachelor’s thesis examines artificial intelligence in strategic decision-making within technology project management. The study is based on a literature review and aims to identify the main applications, benefits, and limitations of AI in supporting project managers’ decision-making. The theoretical part discusses strategic decision-making, project management, and key concepts of AI within project management. The findings indicate that AI is particularly useful in resource allocation, risk management, scenario planning, prioritization, and documentation. In these areas, AI can improve efficiency, accuracy, and reduce manual work. The study also identifies limitations. AI depends on the availability and quality of data, and its use may involve bias, privacy risks, over-reliance, and organizational barriers such as limited infrastructure and insufficient competence. The results suggest that AI strengthens strategic decision-making the most when it is used as a decision-support tool and combined with human judgement.
