Tiivistelmä
This thesis studies the control strategy for a static var generator (SVG) to compensate reactive power in power systems. A voltage-source converter-based mathematics model is first constructed to build a two-loops control structure, which includes an outer loop voltage and inner current loop.
System load current monitoring, then performs coordinate transformations on the dq-axis components required by the controller. According to these control signals, SPWM is used to produce switching pulses that operate the switch device of the converter.
Develop a MATLAB/Simulink simulation model for evaluating the performance of this system. The simulation results shows that this method has improved the system's dynamic Response to improve reactive power compensation maintain system Stability.
