Development needs of the port’s electricity network and development of electricity use

Abstract

This report presents the outcomes of the Power grid modeling and development needs work package performed within the Smart Grid and Energy Community Pilot project in Mussalo, Kotka. The study was conducted using harbor data and information, as well as available online sources. The aim of the study is to provide a clearer view of the future of Mussalo Harbor, highlighting the challenges and changes that need to be considered in light of regulations, harbor development, and potential load variations. Furthermore, a brief description of the harbor's current status is provided, and possible future scenarios and loads, along with development requirements and plans, are discussed.
