Hitsaustekniikan alan mielikuvat sekä houkuttelevuus

Abstract

Hitsaustekniikka on jatkuvasti kehittyvä ala ja keskeinen osa maailman teknologiateollisuutta, mutta alalle tarvitaan lisää osaajia. Alan mielikuvista tai houkuttelevuudesta ei ole kuitenkaan tuoretta tutkimusta, jonka avulla alaa voitaisiin tehokkaammin markkinoida tuleville tekijöille. Tässä työssä suoritettiin kyselytutkimus LUT-yliopiston opiskelijoille, jolla kartoitettiin alan houkuttelevuutta, mielikuvia, sekä vetovoimatekijöitä.

Kyselyssä oli 9 kysymystä, ja siihen saatiin 107 vastausta. Kyselytutkimuksen mukaan suuremmalle osalla alasta tulee mieleen vetovoimatekijöitä, ja vähemmistölle poistyöntäviä tekijöitä. Suurimmat vetovoimatekijät liittyvät tekniseen kiinnostukseen, teknologiseen kehitykseen, sekä hyvään työllisyyteen. Poistyöntävät tekijät liittyvät alan koettuun vaarallisuuteen, työoloihin, sekä alan haastavuuteen.

Welding technology is a continuously evolving field and a key part of the global technology industry, yet there is a growing need for skilled professionals. However, there is a lack of recent research on perceptions of the field and its attractiveness, which could be used to promote welding technology more effectively to future professionals. This thesis presents a survey conducted among students at LUT University to examine perceptions of the field, its attractiveness, and the factors influencing interest in welding technology.

The survey consisted of nine questions and received 107 responses. The results indicate that most respondents associated the field with positive characteristics, while a minority noted discouraging factors. The main factors contributing positively to the field were technical interest, technological development, and strong employment prospects. The primary discouraging factors were the perceived hazardous nature of the work, working conditions and the challenging nature of the profession.
