Tiivistelmä
Tutkielman teoriaosuuden tavoitteena on selvittää kuinka Balanced scorecard -malli rakentuu ja toimii. Caseosuuden tavoitteena on määritellä esimerkkiyritykselle sopiva tasapainotettu mittaristo ottaen huomioon yrityksen toimiala ja toimintaympäristön sekä toimintaympäristön muutostrendit. Lisäksi tutkimuksen tavoitteena on antaa esimerkkiyritykselle toimintaohjeet heidän Balanced scorecard -projektin loppuunviemiseksi. Toiminnanohjausmalleista syvällisimmin käsitellään Kaplanin jaNortonin Balanced scorecard -mallia, josta käytetään myös nimitystä tasapainotettu mit-taristo.
Tutkimus perustuu laajaan kirjallisuuskatsaukseen aihepiiristä sekä esimerkkiyrityksen avainhenkilöiden haastatteluihin ja caseyrityksen kirjallisiin dokumentteihin. Kaplanin ja Nortonin julkaisut ovat toimineet teoriaosuuden runkoaineistona varsinkin Balanced scorecardia käsittelevien osioiden osalta. Myös Olven ym. sekä Toivasen tutkimukset Balanced scorecardin käyttöönotossa ovat merkittävässä osassa teoriaosuudessa. En työskentele yrityksessä, vaanteen tutkimukseni ulkopuolisena tutkijana. The objective of theoretical research here is to find out how does the model of the Balanced scorecard is built and how it works. Second target was to find for case company suitable Balanced scorecard taking into consideration its line of business and working environment as well as changing working environment. In addition the objective of research is to give this case company the directions as how to finnish this Balanced scorecard project. The main focus has been on Kaplan and Norton's Balanced scorecard model.
The research is based on large theoretical literature as well as interview with key personnel of chosen firm and its literature documents. In the theoretical part the Kaplan and Norton's publication has been the base of this research especially in theoretical parts conserning Balanced scorecard. There has been significant contribution by Olve, Roy and Wetter's as well as Toivanen's research in implementation of Balanced scorecard in theoretical part. I am not working in this case firm, but my role has been as an outsourced researcher for this firm.
