Mobiilitehdaskonseptin soveltaminen puutalotuotantoon
Keronen, Jukka-Pekka (2011)
Tiivistelmä
Tullit ja kuljetuskustannukset haittaavat suomalaisten puutuotteiden hintakilpailua Venäjällä, mikä on luonut tarpeen uudenlaisten toimintamallien kehittämiselle. Tutkimuksen hypoteesina on, että soveltamalla teorioita mobiilista tuotantojärjestelmästä puutalotuotantoon pystytään vastaamaan aluerakennustoiminnan ongelmiin ja saavuttamaan kustannusetuja. Tämän työn tavoitteena on antaa yritysjohdolle kuvaus siirrettävän talotehtaan tuotantokonseptista ja arvioida toiminnan kannattavuutta. Työn tulosten avulla pyritään vastaamaan kysymyksiin: millainen on siirrettävä puutalotehdas ja onko mobiilitehdaskonsepti puutalotuotannossa taloudellisesti kannattava. Tutkimusta tarkastellaan Venäjän liiketoiminta- ja Venäjän puurakentamiskontekstissa.
Tutkimus on laadullinen tapaustutkimus, jossa käytettiin useiden menetelmien yhdistelmää.
Mobiili talotehdas koostuu kokoonpanolinjasta, jota täydennetään esivalmistusverstailla. Investoinnille laskettiin kannattavuutta kuvaavat tunnusluvut, joiden perusteella mobiilitehdas todettiin kannattamattomaksi ja riskialttiiksi. Kannattavuuden epävarmuutta analysoitiin herkkyysanalyysillä. Kannattavuuteen vaikuttavat merkittävästi muuttuvien kustannusten ja myyntihinnan muutokset. Työssä annetaan toimenpide-ehdotuksia siirrettävän talotuotannon konseptin kehittämiseen. Keskeiset jatkotutkimuskohteet liittyvät mobiilitehtaan elinkierron toimintojen ja osakonseptien kehittämiseen. Tariffs and transportation costs hamper the price competition of Finnish wood products in Russia, leading to a need to develop new operations models. The hypothesis for this study is that by applying theories from the mobile manufacturing system to the production of wood-frame houses, problems in regional construction can be solved, and cost advantages can be achieved. The objective of this work is to provide a description of the mobile house manufacturing factory’s production concept for the company’s management and to assess the profitability of its activities. The results of this work seek to answer the following questions: what the wood-frame house manufacturing factory is like and whether the mobile wood-frame house production concept is economically viable. The context of the study is the Russian trade business and Russian wood-construction.
This is a qualitative case study, in which a combination of several methods was used. Research methods include both methods of technical design and of viability assessment. The technical aspect of this study is based on the methods for plant design and concept development. The income statement, rate of return and payback period were used to asses the concept’s economic performance. Sensitivity analysis was used to estimate the effects that different factors had on profitability.
This thesis introduces the plan and manufacturing concept for the mobile house factory, and also touches on its logistical concept. The mobile factory concept and workshop production model were applied to the mobile house factory. The mobile house factory consists of an assembly line, complemented with prefabrication workshops. Figures for the profitability of the investment were calculated, according to which the mobile factory was found to be unprofitable and risky. The uncertainty for the investment’s profitability was analyzed with sensitivity analysis. Changes in the variable costs and selling prices have a significant effect on profitability. In this thesis, suggestions for concept development for mobile house manufacturing are given. The main subjects for further study are the development of the life cycle functions of the mobile factory, and the development of its subconcepts.
