Tiivistelmä
Tämän diplomityön tavoitteena oli suunnitella miehistönkuljetusajoneuvon runko. Rungosta suunniteltiin mahdollisimman hyvin energiaa absorboiva. Rakenne toteutettiin kennora-kenteena. Suunnittelussa sovellettiin koneensuunnittelun periaatteiden lisäksi energiaa ab-sorboivien rakenteiden suunnittelun periaatteita. Myös valmistustekniset näkökohdat otet-tiin huomioon. Rakenteessa hyödynnettiin Ruukki Oy:n Ramor 500 suojausterästä sekä OPTIM 500 MC terästä. Lisäksi erilaisten täyteaineiden käyttöä tutkittiin.
Suunnittelun työkaluna käytettiin epälineaarista elementtimenetelmää, koska energiaa ab-sorboivien rakenteiden suunnittelussa on otettava huomioon materiaalien epälineaarinen käyttäytyminen. Rakenteen suunnittelu jakaantui viiteen vaiheeseen. Aluksi rakenteeseen kohdistuvat kuormitukset laskettiin elementtimenetelmän avulla. Esisuunnittelussa lasket-tiin plastisuusteorian avulla alustavasti tarvittavat materiaalipaksuudet. Tämän jälkeen ra-kenteen ydingeometria optimoitiin mahdollisimman hyvin energiaa absorboivaksi. Opti-moinnissa hyödynnettiin elementtimenetelmää. Seuraavassa vaiheessa varmistettiin raken-teen globaalit ominaisuudet. Lopuksi rakenteen kestävyyttä tarkasteltiin elementtimene-telmällä.
Runko ei mallien mukaan kestänyt siltä vaadittuja kuormitustapauksia. Mallin kaikki ole-tukset pidettiin varmalla puolella. Reunaehdot oletettiin todellisuutta jäykemmiksi. Myös-kään materiaalin venymänopeudesta johtuvaa lujittumista ei otettu huomioon. Koska mii-naräjähdys on monimutkainen tapahtuma, rungon todellinen kestävyys joudutaan ar-viomaan räjähdystesteillä. Elementtimallien perusteella voidaan kuitenkin sanoa, että ener-giaa absorboiva ajoneuvon runko on mahdollista toteuttaa kennorakenteena. Lisäksi voi-daan todeta, että elementtimenetelmää sopii työvälineeksi tämän tyyppisten rakenteiden suunnitteluun. The purpose of this Master’s thesis was to design a chassis for an armored vehicle. The chassis was designed to absorb impact energy from explosion as well as possible. It was engineered as a cell structure. In addition to the principles of the machine design, the prin-ciples of energy absorbing structures design were applied. The restrictions due to manufac-turing were also taken into account. Ramor 500 protection steel and OPTIM 500 MC steel manufactured by Ruukki Corporation were used for the structure. In addition, the use of various filling materials was researched.
Nonlinear finite element method was used as a designing tool, because the nonlinear beha-vior of materials must be taken into account when designing energy absorbing structures. The design of the structure was divided into five phases. First, the loads applied to the structure were calculated with the help of the finite element method. In the preliminary design phase, the necessary thicknesses of the materials were calculated according to the theory of plasticity. After that, the core geometry was optimized for absorbing energy as well as possible. The finite element method was used in the optimization. In the next phase, the global attributes of the structure were ensured. Finally, the strength of the structure was analyzed using the finite element method.
According to the models, the chassis did not withstand the required loads. All the assump-tions of the model were kept at a secure level. The boundary conditions were presumed stiffer than they are in reality. The strengthening resulting from the material’s strain rate was not taken into account. Mine explosion is a complex occurrence, so the real strength of the chassis must be estimated using explosion tests. According to the element models, it can be stated, that it is possible to engineer the chassis for the vehicle as a cell structure. In addition, it can be stated that the finite element method is a suitable tool for the design of this type of structures.
