Tiivistelmä
Virtuaaliset yhteisöt ja erilaiset virtuaaliset välineet yhteisöllisyyden
mahdollistamiselle ovat kasvavan tieteellisen mielenkiinnon kohteena.
Tässä tutkimuksessa tutkittiin uuden tiedon luomisen prosessia
blogiviestinnässä. Tämä tehtiin käyttäen tietojohtamisen tieteenalalla
perusteoriana pidettyä Ikujiro Nonakan uuden tiedon luomisen SECImalliia.
Blogiympäristöä tarkasteltiin niin ikään Ikujiro Nonakan bakäsitteen
avulla. Aihetta tarkennettiin pohtimalla ryhmäytymistä ja sen
ilmenemistä virtuaalisessa viestinnässä.
Tutkimus toteutettiin tapaustutkimuksena, ja tutkimuskohteena oli
Lappeenrannan teknillisen yliopiston opintojaksolla ”Virtuaalinen yhteistyö
ja tietotekniset työkalut” käytetty verkko-oppimissovelluksen tarjoama
blogialusta. Tutkimuksen empiirisen osan muodostaa aineisto, joka
rakentuu opiskelijoiden omista opintojaksoon kuuluvista
blogikeskusteluista.
Tutkimuksen tärkeimpänä johtopäätöksenä havaittiin, että blogiviestintä
edistää uuden tiedon luomista. Edelleen todettiin että blogialusta tukee
välineenä uuden tiedon luomisen prosessia, ja tarjoaa tiedon luomiselle
hyvän virtuaalisen ympäristön, ba:n. Uuden tiedon luomiseen vaikutti
luottamus niin teknistä alustaa, opettajia kuin yhteisöä kohtaan.
Avaintekijöiksi nousi avoimuus, tahto jakaa omaa tietämystään,
mielenkiinto aiheeseen sekä ryhmäkoheesio. Uuden tiedon rakentumisen
huomaaminen, ja virtuaalisen yhteisön uuden tiedon luomisen potentiaalin
ymmärtäminen nostivat kollektiivisesti tahtoa rikastaa yleistä keskustelua,
heijastaa omia kokemuksia muiden kokemuksiin, sekä jakaa yhteiset
johtopäätökset, eli sosiaalistaa, ulkoistaa, yhdistää ja sisäistää
kollektiivisesti luotu tieto yksilön kokemukseksi. Virtual communities and various virtual tools to enable collectivity is a
growing phenomenon in scientific research. This thesis studies the
creation process of new knowledge in blog communication. This was
achieved by using one of the basic theories of knowledge management,
Ikujiro Nonaka’s knowledge creation model, namely SECI model. Blog
environment was studied also by using Ikujiro Nonaka’s ba-concept. The
subject was deepened by thinking about how groups are formed and how
they are seen in virtual communication.
Case study was used as a research method, and the object of research
was a blog tool used in ”Virtual collaboration and IT-tools” course at
Lappeenranta University of Technology. The empirical part of the study
was formed by the actual blog conversations of students in the course.
Main conclusions of the study are that blog communication enhances
creation of new knowledge. It was also noted that blog as a tool supports
the process of creating new knowledge and provides a good virtual
environment, known as ba. Creation of new knowledge was influenced by
trust of the technical tool, the teachers, as well as the community. Key
factors were openness, the will to share one’s own knowledge, interest of
the topic, and group cohesion. Observing the creation of new knowledge,
and understanding the potential of knowledge creation of the virtual
community raised a collective will among the members of the group, to
